Shauna Rose Kaufman Foundation
In the summer of 2005, our cousin Shauna Rose Kaufman passed away in a car accident at the age of 17.
Since this sudden and tragic loss, her family has worked to promote organ and tissue donation. Since the passage of "Shauna's Hope," the policy implemented in Delaware, 21 families have had the opportunity to have their loved ones become donors. In the year prior to the "Shauna's Hope" policy, there were zero donors from non-hospital deaths in Delaware.
In addition to the work they are doing to raise awareness about organ donation, the Shauna Rose Kaufman Foundation is dedicated to pursuing Shauna's passions of art, equality and education.
